National stability, solidarity linked to implementation of Iqbal’s thought: PAT

A delegation of Pakistan Awami Tehreek led by President of Punjab chapter, Basharat Aziz Jaspal and President of PAT Directorate of Public Relations Shahzad Rasool Gujjar paid their respects at the shrine of Hakim-ul-Ummat Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal at the occasion of his death anniversary. They placed a floral wreath at the shrine on behalf of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and offered Fateha. The PAT delegation consisted of Sohail Ahmad Raza, Fayyaz Warriach, Raja Zahid, Mian Abdul Qadir, Sajid Bhatti, Haji Ishaq, Tayyab Zia, Sardar Ranjeet Singh and others.

Talking at the occasion, Shahzad Rasool Gujjar and Sohail Ahmad Raza paid glowing tributes to Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal. They said that Allama Iqbal was not only the poet of East, a great politician, and a noted lawyer but also the leading intellectual-leader of his times. They said that it was Iqbal who powered the struggle for renaissance of the Muslims of the sub-continent through his inspirational poetry and penetrating political insight. Leading from the front, Dr Iqbal provided leadership to the Muslims at the most difficult phase of their national life. They said that Iqbal taught a lesson of untiring and continuous struggle and urged the youth to stay resigned to simple and natural life.

The PAT leaders said that the poet of East taught the Muslims to protect their national honour and self-esteem at every cost. They said that we would have to make a fresh resolve to act upon the thought of Iqbal at the occasion of his death anniversary. They said that Iqbal always held the youth in high esteem. He described them as eagles and instructed them to awaken their revolutionary spirit. They said that continuous struggle was intrinsically linked to progress and development in Iqbal’s viewpoint.

In his remarks at the occasion, Basharat Aziz Jaspal, President of PAT Punjab chapter, said that the youth should make a name for themselves by dedicating themselves to acquisition of knowledge, and development of expertise in science and technology in line with the teachings of Allama Iqbal. He said that there were the youth alone who could put the country at the pinnacle of glory and pride. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was working practically to promote and advance this thought of Iqbal so that the nation could regain its lost glory.

He said that the protest demonstrations to be held under the banner of PAT on May 11 against the corrupt and exploitative electoral system would prove to be seminal point of revolution. He said that the government had completely failed to provide basic necessities of life to the people, adding that the country had been sucked into abyss of challenges. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was the last ray of hope. He said that the hundreds of thousands of people heed his call on May 11 and take to the streets in their hundreds of thousands.

The PAT delegation prayed for establishment of peace, security and stability of the country.
