10-point agenda panacea to all problems: Shujaat

LONDON: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader, Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, has announced to return to Pakistan on June 23, but sought security from military, SAMAA reported.

Addressing a press conference through video link, the PAT chief said that he would land at Islamabad airport on June 23 in the morning to kick off his ‘movement against corruption and not against democracy’.

“I believe in the Constitution but I’m against this system… My struggle is aimed at purging this country of corruption and corrupt rulers,” said the religious party leader who lives in Canada.

“I’m fighting for revival and implementation of sections of the Constitution related to peoples’ democratic rights,” he said, and warned the government over any untoward incident upon his arrival in Pakistan.

He named eight PML-N leaders, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, holding them responsible for any harm caused to him. “Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar, Khawaja Asif, Saad Rafiq, Abid Sher Ali, Pervaiz Rashid and Rana Sanaullah would be responsible in case of any harm to me.”

Qadri called on military to provide him security at Islamabad airport.

Dr. Qadri met PML-Q leaders, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi, in London last week and announced that they would launch a movement to oust the PML-N government against alleged vote rigging.

Meanwhile, speaking to SAMAA, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said Qadir is allowed to come to Pakistan; however, he said the PAT chief “is working to promote his agenda to destabilize democratic institutions.”
