Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri criticizes government for invocation to Article 245

PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the government is abusing powers under Article 245. He said that there was no need to call in the army in any city of the country. He said that the rulers who could not secure and manage their capital, how would they secure the entire country? He said that the government had been unnerved and all decisions were being taken for petty political objectives which reflected an unsettled and confused state of mind of rulers.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while addressing a consultative meeting held at the party’s secretariat here today on July 26. Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Basharat Jaspal, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Qazi Faiz, Ainul Haq Baghdadi and Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry were also present at the occasion.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the graver and more serious incidents of terrorism such as attacks on Mehran Base, Kamra Base, and GHQ took place in the past but the military was not summoned, adding as to which matter of serious nature was underway for which it was considered essential to call in the army in aid of the civil administration by invocation of Article 245. He said that the military never intervened in civil affairs on its own but added such incompetent governments such as the present one forced the military to intervene in civil matters.
