Letter along with complex ToRs based on government’s ill-will: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the letter of the government, which accompanied the ToRs was based on ill-will. He said that the decision of the Chief Justice not to form a probe commission is not unexpected at all. He said that the government knew that the inquiry of Panama leaks under the Pakistan Commissions of Inquiry 1956 was not possible and despite this an effort was made to entangle the government. He said that the PM wanted to take shelter under the letter written to the SC. He said that the PM is running away from accountability and he has asked some of ‘children’ to make so much noise that the nation suffers from confusion and doubts but Allah has willed it otherwise.

Dr Qadri said that the nation is serious about elimination of corruption this time round and want accountability of all the corrupt including the PM. He said that the ruling family has staged a drama for last one month or so and kept the people and media entangled. He said that the Prime Minister does not seem to be offering simple answer as to where he amassed the wealth from to buy properties in London. He said that if he is really serious, all of these questions can be addressed in one sitting but his way of answering is such which has added new layers to already existing confusion with the country headed for a new crisis.

He said that had the government been serious in probe of the Panama leaks, the Anti-Corruption Act of 1947 would have proven to be more effective and result-oriented. He further said that had the PM been serious in the resolution of the Panama riddle, he would have formulated ToRs after consultation with the Opposition and established a powerful judicial commission through an Ordinance, a commission having the power to punish, issue a report and commission the services of international forensic experts.
