Women to struggle hard for the requisite change in the system: Secretary General MWL

Managing the kitchen has become a headache for a woman due to present-day dearness and inflation. People have been forced to starve with no relief in sight. The inflated electricity and gas bills have made life difficult for common man and the unending bouts of load-shedding have added to the miseries.

These views were expressed by Mrs Sumaira Rafaqat, Nazima Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, while adderessing a seminar on “Impact of dearness on women” organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League in Lahore yesterday. Sajida Sadiq, Sidra Karmat Ali, Khadija Fatima, Ayesha Shabbir and others were also present on the occasion.

She said economic problems have gravely affected the human relations and family life. The children happen to be the worst affectees as they are not getting healthy diet due to financial constraints. They are getting affected by internal fights in a family. The people are increasingly finding it hard to run their kitchens so they have to reduce their spending on their children’s education. This phenomenon is making the future dark. She asked the women not to accept this state of affairs and being more than half of the country’s population they must play their positive role to bring about change in society. Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League is in the forefront of this struggle for restoration and protection of women’s rights without any discrimination of caste, creed and women, therefore, must join MWL for the requisite change in the system.
