Pakistan’s national life continues to face one crisis after the other without any let or hindrance. No way seems out of the shackles of dearness the people are caught up in. The noose around people’s necks is getting tightened and a litany of problems and worries has bled the body politic in an irreparable manner.
Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of MQI, expressed these views while talking to a delegation of MQI Punjab, which called on him at the central secretariat under the leadership of Ahmad Nawaz Anjum.
MQI Secretary General said that shortage of gas and power had crippled the national economy with grave implications for social fabric as well as law and order of the country.
Dr Abbasi said that the Pakistan incumbent electoral system allowed for change of character in the script of play that politics has become, while the plot remained the same without any change. If at all any change came about, it was that the people’s lives became more miserable by the day.
Dr Abbasi said that the way out of our present predicaments lay in rejecting the current electoral system and striving to change it with one representative of people’s aspirations through peaceful means. He said that there was a need to join forces with Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in his mission to improve the lot of the people.
Dr Raheeq Abbasi added that the criticality and depth of crises facing the country made it manifestly clear that the problems would be resolved only if the entire system was overhauled and for that people had a major responsibility on their shoulders in this respect. He said that the system responsible for people’s woes needs to be sent packing.
