Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Deputy Prime Minister, has said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s mission is for people, Pakistan and democracy. He said that PML-Q would support Dr Qadri in his agenda of electoral reforms in the country. He said that electoral reforms would strengthen democracy, adding had these reforms been implemented prior to holding of bi-elections, the results would have been different. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has stood up against oppression and PML-Q supported him in his mission.
Chaudhry Pervez Elahi expressed these views during his meeting with Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri at latter’s residence in Model Town the other day. PML-Q Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed, Moonis Elahi, and Khalid Bashir Cheema were also present on the occasion. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri represented MQI during the meeting.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that he felt after meeting Dr Qadri that he had come to accomplish his agenda with renewed commitment, vigour and determination. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was struggling for supremacy of Constitution, which would strengthen the foundations of democracy. Electoral reforms, he said, would put an end to corruption.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that they would support Dr Qadri’s agenda against oppression, injustice and foul play. He supported the idea of implementation of electoral reforms for strengthening of democracy. He said that he was looking a ray of change after his meeting with Dr Qadri.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri thanked the PML-Q delegation for their support. He said that they had old relationship.
