A delegation of CNG Association (Punjab chapter) called on Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri at his residence in Model Town the other day and extended their full support to the Long March on January 14. The delegation was led by Punjab chapter chairman of the Association Captain (r ) Raja Shuja Anwer.
The delegation apprised Dr Qadri about the problems the CNG sector was facing. The chairman said that the government was making conscious efforts to destroy the sector. He said that a huge investment of Rs. 5 billion was in danger of being lost due to vested interests of the powerful people. He said that if the sector was decimated, it would result in massive job layoffs. He said that people associated with the CNG industry would attend the Long March to record their disapproval of the government’s policies.
Talking to the delegation, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that his agenda of reform was driven by the miserable plight of the masses who were the worst victims of the present exploitative system. He said that the 14th of January would herald a beginning of people’s empowerment and salvation from the clutches of political mafias. He said that people’s problems would not be solved without bringing about drastic changes in the system.
