System designed to favour the powerful: Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri addresses Workers Convention

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI’s Supreme Council, has said that the myriad problems the country has been facing both internally as well as externally are due to leadership crisis. He said that the country needs a leadership that is visionary, nationalistic, and courageous and is deeply wedded to the ideology of the Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that unless those at the helm of affairs preferred national interests and had the courage to say no to the foreign dictations, things would not change for the better with the result that the country would continue to lurch from one crisis to the other.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these views while addressing a Workers Convention in Islamabad the other day. MQI’s Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gundapur, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, office holders and workers of PAT and MQI were also present on the occasion. Those who attended the Convention included Ibrar Raza Advocate, Farooq Butt, Ghuzanfar Khokar, Syed Bashir Hussain Shah, Ishtiaq Maher Advocate, Irfan Tahir, Javed Asghar, Saeed Niazi, Qasim Mirza, Razia Navid, Nusrat Amin, Ghulam Ali Khan, Ghulam Mustafa Noorani, and Ansar Malik.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the nation had a capable and courageous leadership in the person of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, adding that if the people wanted a change, they should stand by Dr Qadri and support his agenda whole-heartedly. He said that the mammoth public meeting in December and the Islamabad Long March in January would be remembered as watershed in the struggle for restoration of people’s rights.

Dr Hassan said that the incumbent system had been designed in a manner so as to protect the interests of the privileged few at the cost of millions of Pakistanis. He said that any expectation from the system to deliver wellbeing of the people was futile. He said that the system had enslaved the masses. He said that if the people wanted deliverance from the ills of the corrupt and exploitative system, they should totally and wholly reject it. He said that those who wished to bring about change in the system by operating within its confines were wasting their time and dissipating energies of the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Khurram Nawaz Gundapur said that time would soon come when the people would forget about December and January moots. He said that MQI would launch movement for preparation of Long March phase II in accordance with the directions of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that the people would have to become aware of their rights like the people in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. He said that the situation came to this pass because the people never protested against the excesses. He said that it was now a golden opportunity to support Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in his peaceful and democratic struggle for restoration of their rights.

Ahmad Nawaz Anjum also spoke on the occasion.
