Lawyers to take part in PAT protest rally

A delegation of Lahore High Court Bar Association led by Naeem Chaudhry Advocate called on Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-din Qadri, President of Federal Council of Pakistan Awami Tehreek the other day. The representatives of lawyer community announced to take full part in the PAT protest rally against price hike, unemployment, poor law and order situation and corruption in Lahore on December 29. The delegation consisted of Ch Imtiaz Ahmad Advocate, Sardar Ghazanfar Hussian Advocate, Asif Asghar Advocate, Asif Sulheria Advocate, Saeed-ul-Hassan Advocate, Mushtaq Nonari Advocate, MH Shaheen Advocate, Amjad Hussain Jutt Advocate, and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Article 38 of the Constitution talks of providing the basic necessities of life to every Pakistani. He said that right to livelihood, housing and clothes is an equal right of every citizen. He said that likewise access to health and education are the basic rights. He said that the successive government failed to implement this Article of the Constitution. He said that the effective voice for change in the system raised by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is the voice of every Pakistani now. He asked the lawyer community to support PAT in its struggle against the system, adding that lawyers, being the educated and most aware segment of society, have huge responsibility on their shoulders.

Speaking on behalf of lawyer community, Naeem Ch advocate assured Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri that lawyers would attend PAT protest rally in their hundreds of thousands. He said that it is important to change the system if the country has to make progress. He said that legal fraternity supports Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s agenda of peace and democratic change in the system. He said the so-called democracy had made life hell for the people in six months. He said that family domination was the marked feature of the present system in the name of democracy. He said that corruption will only be weeded out from the system if the mode of elections is changed. He hoped that the protest rally on December 29 would be a resounding success and herald a new beginning of struggle for people’s empowerment. He said that Dr Qadri’s struggle will be instrumental in achieving progress and stability for the country.
