SAMAA: Govt has no intention to hold peace talks, Dr. Qadri

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr. Tahir ul Qadri on Monday denounced the federal government, saying it has neither any intention to negotiate with Taliban nor it can restore peace in the country.

Addressing a press conference via video link from Canada, Dr. Qadri said the government has failed to protect people. “People are getting killed in terrorist attacks while government is befooling them in the name of talks,” he opined.

The PAT chief warned that the government was hatching a conspiracy to privatize national institutions on cheap rates. “Privatization Board chief and its members are PML-N’s workers who are defending their leaders,” he alleged.

Dr. Qadri advised all political parties to state protests inside and outside the Parliament to thwart the privatization plan. – SAMAA
