- Qadri, Shujaat sign 10-point reform agenda to be implemented after former’s return to Pakistan in June
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Saturday agreed on a 10-point agenda to bring revolutionary reforms in the governance system.
PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri and PML-Q head Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain inked the declaration at a press conference in London.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr Qadri said the current political and administrative system has failed in solving masses’ problems. He announced that he would return to Pakistan in June to launch the movement for implementation of his agenda.
Dr Qadri also said that Shujaat would contact political and religious parties and key figures to muster support for grand political alliance against the government.
“PAT and PML-Q have agreed to transfer the power to the grass-root level. The current outdated system has failed to provide rights to the people. The present government was established through an unconstitutional election commission,” he added.
Chaudhry Shujaat said that Dr Qadri had vision and passion for the poor people of Pakistan.
In the meanwhile, PML-Q leader Pervazi Elahi said that PML-Q and PAT agreed that both parties will get the agenda implemented with full force.
“It’s a reform agenda, which will bring progress,” he said, adding that their movement would be for the betterment of common man.
