The City Police have arrested Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Hafizabad Vice President Haji Mukhtar Ahmad and workers Nouman Ahmad, Muhammad Afzal, Mushtaq Ansari, Anwar-ul-Haq and Atif Sultan on the charge of allegedly pelting stone on the police, resulting in injuries to four cops about four days ago. The police had registered cases against 134 PAT activists. More arrests are expected tonight.
In Toba Tek Singh, the Gojra Police arrested Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Gojra Tehsil Ameer Syed Ameer Ali Shah and an activist Naveed Ahmad. Sources said that both were arranging transport for taking away the PAT and TMQ workers for joining Monday rally scheduled to welcome Dr Tahirul Qadri in Islamabad.
