Model Town tragedy: SP Security gave shooting orders

SP security was informed about the consequences of shooting orders.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – The investigation of the Model Town operation is underway. Joint Investigation Team recorded the statement of in-charge Elite Force, Abdul Rauf. According to the statement, Superintendent Police (SP) Security issued the orders to shoot the protesters in the legs. He, nonetheless, was informed of the possible consequences it shall bore but the orders were not altered.

Station House Officer (SHO) Sabzazaar, Amir Saleem, aimed straight at the protesters. The statement of in-charge Elite Commandos, footages of the operation and their possible connection with the site shall soon resolve the mystery. SHO Amir Saleem including the Elite Forces personnel are further being investigated.

On June 17, at least 14 PAT workers were killed and dozens of others injured in violent clashes between party activists and policemen in Lahore. The confrontation had started when a 15-member police team tried to remove barriers in front of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house and the Minhaj International Secretariat.
