Government wants to use army for political motives: Dr. Qadri
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir ul Qadri has rejected the imposition of Article 245 by the government. He alleged the government of trying to use Pakistan Army for political purposes. PAT Chief was speaking at a press conference at the Minhajul Quran International (MQI) Secretariat in Model Town today (Sunday).
“Article 245 should have been implemented in Khyber Pakhtoohkhawa (KPK) first where the Armed forces are conducting the operation”, said Dr. Qadri. He said that the situation in Karachi is getting worse every new day yet the government did not take any such action.
Tahir ul Qadri termed the affidavit submitted by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif before the Model Town Inquiry Tribunal as untrue. He said that the heads of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) attended the 16 June meeting. “How could the Law Minister of the province summon the heads of these departments”, questioned PAT Chief.
Dr. Tahir ul Qadri alleged the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister of Punjab to be involved in the Model Town Incident and said that both must now be removed. Tahir ul Qadri said that the date for ‘Revolutionary Rally’ will be announced soon and FIR of the Model Town incident will be the first step towards it.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had submitted his affidavit before the Model Town Inquiry Tribunal yesterday (Saturday). The affidavit stated that Rana Sanaullah had presided over the meeting in which the decision to remove the barriers outside MQI secretariat had been taken. CM Punjab also stated in the affidavit that he had directed the police to pull back but his orders were not abided by.
