LAHORE(Tez News Online) Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr. Tahirul Qadri has claimed that Punjab government is using ‘dirty tactics’ to bar his party workers from arriving in Lahore in connection with Yaum-e-Shuhada which his faction will observe on August 10 to pay tribute to martyrs of Model Town.
“Authorities are pressurizing transporters for not transporting our workers to Lahore, Licences of bus stops and drivers are also being cancelled as part of crackdown which Punjab government has launched to bar our workers,” Qadri said while speaking at a press conference alongside PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
“The provincial government is using its dirty tactics despite our assurance that our protest will remain peaceful,” he said.
Qadri, the anti-Taliban fiery preacher whose anti-government campaigns has put ruling PML-N in trouble since his arrival in Pakistan in June, has announced to observe Yaum-e-Shuhada (Day of Martyrs) on August 10 to pay tribute to those martyred in Model Town of Lahore in June.
He further said that schedule of ‘Yaume Inqalab’ (Day of Revolution) will be announced after August 10. “If the government tries to stop the participants of Martyrs’ Day, the rulers will face the consequences of their actions.”
He said FIR of the Model Town incident had not been registered. “There is no state institution where the concerns of masses are addressed. Hence there is need of revolution,” Qadri said.
