Qadri presents ‘Charter of Demands’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on Saturday presented ‘Charter of Demands’ of his party's Inquilab March, Geo News reported.

Addressing the marchers here, Qadri paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Model town tragedy.

PAT chief said the first demand of the rally is resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif over Model town tragedy. He also demanded the arrest of Sharif brothers as per the law of the land.

The parliament and provincial assemblies be dissolved as these were formed 'unconstitutionally'. He said the sit-in would continue till all assemblies are dissolved.

A new national government should be formed for bringing about democratic reforms.

The names of Sharif brothers and the cabinet members be placed on Exit Control List (ECL).

Corrupt politicians, technocrats and bureaucrats be made accountable.

More provinces be created as there is need of them on administration basis. There should be 23 provinces in the country.

Complete protection be provided to the minorities communties.

Local government elections be conducted in all provinces.

Terrorism and extremism be rooted out from Pakistan.

Free education be provided to every single child of Pakistan.

Earlier, he congratulated Inquilab March participants over the court verdict against 'Sharif brothers'.

Qadri asked police to register cases against Prime Minister, Chief Minister and others or be ready to face the consequences.

He said he delayed his speech scheduled for 4:00PM due to Imran Khan’s expected address to the marchers at 3:00PM.

He assured that PAT workers would not inflict loss of even a penny to the shopkeepers.

During his speech, a suspected person with pistol on him was held by PAT workers from the participating crowd. He was presented before Qadri, who took his weapon and hugged him before letting him go. Qadri said: "I am forgiving you."
