ISLAMABAD: As pressure is mounting on the government following Imran Khan’s two-day ultimatum to the incumbent PML-N regime, the deadline given by Dr. Tahirul Qadri-led PTI has only 12 hours left, ARY News reported Monday.
Dr. Qadri had given 48-hour deadline on Saturday night to the government to resign, dissolve assemblies and hold new elections.
On the other side, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan also issued a two-day ultimatum to PM Sharif on Sunday night to step down or face public reaction.
The PAT chief had warned that once the deadline was over he could not stop his supporters and workers from any move they deem appropriate. He also refused to meet the prime minister and any of his cabinet members, thus dashing hopes for any reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Majlis-e-Wehdat e Muslimeen has announced to stage countrywide sit-ins against the government.
