ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Patron-in-Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said the democratic government was still raiding the houses of workers and pestering their women across Punjab.
Government Sends Containers With Toxic Water
Addressing the participants of the Inqilab March sit-in in front of the Parliament House, he said the ruthless rulers had sent water containers mixed with certain poisonous chemical, adding several people, who drank from them, fell unconscious and were being shifted to hospitals.
During the course of Dr. Qadri’s address, another youth, fainted, after drinking water unwittingly from the government’s water containers. The youth was rushed to the hospital on board an ambulance.
On this, Dr. Qadri warned the rulers against committing injustices but as many as they could put up with, adding the time of these barbaric rulers is about to terminate with juggernaut of the peaceful Green Revolution.
Dr. Qadri Calls Pakistanis To Become Part of Revolution
Repeating his call to all Pakistani citizens sitting at homes to rush to Islamabad to join hands with the revolutionaries, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri reaffirmed his faith in revolution, asserting, “My heart and mind are, to the core, sure of revolution. Everybody should pour into Islamabad to personally witness the historic moment of the sun of revolution rising.”
He exhorted the citizens of Pakistan to join the ranks and files of the PAT to brighten the future of 180 million Pakistanis.
Sit-in Causes Judges To Be Late from Court
Alluding to a statement by a federal minister that the two judges arrived late at the courts mainly thanks to the sit-in, the PAT chief remarked the judges faced difficulties because of heavy concentration of containers around the federal capital.
He added, “All the Parliamentarians uninterruptedly kept going inside and coming out of the Parliament House for last three days for the National Assembly sessions, where law-makers continued to pour out invectives against the peaceful demonstrators.”
“Had we wanted, you (Parliamentarians) could not have come out the Parliament House. But, we backtracked from there just three hours after we had closed the doors of the Parliament House,” he noted.
Linking the judges’ trouble to the heavy placements of containers in Islamabad, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri maintained the entire federal capital had been turned into a virtual prison, adding Punjab cities including Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Chakwal had been barricaded with containers.
All roads leading to Islamabad have been sealed off with containers, he said daring the government to lift the blockade if it was so confident of its due and heavy mandate.
Dr. Qadri claimed an ocean of people would deluge D-Chowk, if the lockdown is dismantled.
Why Punjab Police Called In Islamabad
The PAT chief took strong exception to the deployment of Punjab police in the federal capital, remarking the police force could have been called from a nearer province, i.e. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in case the rulers had no trust in Islamabad police.
Shahbaz Sharif Visits Islamabad 200 times in 14 months
Dr. Qadri revealed that Shahbaz Sharif visited the federal capital for over 200 times during the course of only 14 months, consuming millions of rupees from national coffers. He queried as to why Chief Minister of other provinces do not frequent the federal capital, unlike the Punjab CM.
“Why does he visit the federal capital so frequently?,” he questioned reiterating his stance that this dynasty has turned the entire country into its serfdom.
“I draw the attention of national civilian institutions to the dire situation sparked by the incumbent rulers in the country,” he added.
Containers For Security
Citing the statement of Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Dr. Qadri asserted, “The federal minister should give us a written guarantee that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and their cabinets, will be responsible if a terrorist activity takes place amidst heavy blockade of the federal capital and Punjab with containers.”
It should be mentioned here that the federal minister, while addressing a press conference, said a little number of containers at sit-ins on Constitution Avenue could be removed provided that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri gave personal assurances in writing that they would be held responsible if an untoward incident takes place.
“This is an advance public FIR that we have launched against the rulers for a potential sabotage activity against the marchers,” he added.
Dr. Qadri observed the federal minister announced that the containers had been placed as there were security concerns, adding 50,000-strong police force could be ordered to stand guard on roads if there were genuine terror threats.
Impeding the movements of citizens, is a rebellion against and a violation of the Constitution, he argued. But, the rulers, he continued, are themselves terrorists, as they set off an explosive-packed vehicle.
Dr. Qadri also maintained a federal minister held a meeting with terrorists in Sargodha.
Constitutional Sit-in
Commenting on the federal minister’s statement that the government may assign constitutional and legal status to the Islamabad sit-ins, he queried if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had sought prior permission from the Supreme Court for their sit-in, when they took out a march for judiciary restoration.
“Permissible are the sit-ins, if you (rulers) stage them even without a judicial permit. But, if the same political activity is staged against you, it becomes unconstitutional and illegal, forthwith,” he wondered.
Reacting furthermore to the federal minister’s assertions, Dr. Qadri remarked, “I ask those who level the charge of incursion against the marchers, to spell out as to who launched gory offensive on June 17, when massacre took place in Model Town.”
These people (rulers), he continued, do not believe in the Constitution; hence, it would be starkly unconstitutional, undemocratic and inhumane if they stay in power. He averred that their departure from the corridors of power, is highly imperative for the existence of the country.
Terror Threat Against Marchers
Wrapping up his address, he directed the workers to stay in close groups and form into interconnected phalanx as there were vital threats of attacks, given that the rulers have set in motion explosives-laden vehicle and terrorist outfits. –SAMAA
