Qadri wants end to PML-N government

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr Tahirul Qadri, on Friday said they not only demanded Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s resignation but also desired an end to the PML-N-led federal government.

“The victory of the Inqilab March is not far away and soon the heirs of those 14 people killed in the Model Town incident will get justice,” Qadri said in his Friday prayers speech at the sit-in here.

He alleged the incumbent rulers didn’t want to follow the law. He regretted that the FIR of the murder of 14 people was yet to be registered to the disappointment of bereaved families. He asked what kind of democracy was it in which influential people hid themselves behind the garb of democracy. He said, on the one hand, the rulers place containers to block their way, on the other they talk of dialogue saying that the government was not sincere in addressing their demands.

Qadri maintained that they couldn’t get justice as long as Nawaz Sharif was in power.“Our demands are very clear, but the government is not sincere in reaching a solution,” he said.Qadri told the government that by having two thirds majority in the National Assembly the government could amend the constitution to meet their demands. He said the rulers would not be allowed to escape and the names of robbers would be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
