ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Allama Tahirul Qadri Monday gave the incumbent government a new deadline of 48 hours to wrap up assemblies.
Addressing the participants of his sit-in outside the Parliament House here, the fiery orator warned that if the assemblies were not dissolved in 48 hours, there would be ‘Damadam Mast Qalandar’.
Tahirul Qadri did not elaborate what he actually meant by ‘Damadam Mast Qalandar’.
He said he had bought a ‘kafan’ (shroud) for himself, lamenting the oppressed lot had no other option but to wear a kafan and get himself buried.
The PAT leader said fourteen people had lost their lives on June 17 but till today no case was lodged.
He told the government to show him report of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on the Model Town tragedy before expiry of the 48-hour ultimatum. “The ‘independent members’ have affixed a dissenting note in the JIT’s report,” he added.
Tahirul Qadri said he is telling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan that investigation into the poll rigging allegations has now become unnecessary. Because, the member of Election Commission has spilled the beans, saying the entire ballot exercise was a fraud, he added.
He said the ex-additional secretary ECP Afzal Khan has disclosed that 90 percent of the elections were rigged. “This makes the Prime Miniser, assemblies, Government and its ministers unconstitutional,” he argued.
