Qadri slams govt for linking economic instability with sit-ins

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr Tahirul Qadri has criticized the government for putting the blame of economic instability on Islamabad sit-ins, despite the fact that it acquired billions of loans in just one year, ARY News reported.

Addressing the participants of the PAT sit-in, Dr Tahirul Qadri said that Rs 6000 billion loans were acquired by past governments during last 28 years, but the current Nawaz-government has already obtained Rs 5500 billion loan in just one year, while it is blaming the Islamabad sit-ins for the economic instability of the state.

He said, “The government boasts of economic development, what kind of development it is that its advantages are not reaching out to the people”.

Dr Qadri said constructing motorways and initiating projects like metro bus is no development, country prospers only when the people get their just rights.

He challenged that no economist of the world can reject his proposed economic system and asked the rulers to design a single model at par with the one he advocates.

The PAT chief slammed the rulers for acquiring more and more loans and inquired them how will they pay back such huge sums.

He said that the article 25-A of the constitution guarantees that no child from 5-16 years of age will be kept uneducated, but it is not being acted upon.

Dr Tahirul Qadri questioned how this government poses itself to be democratic, when it is unable to provide education to the children and save them from forced labor.

Moreover, he said that police was firing bullets on the PAT workers at night and they had taken refuge in the lawn of the Parliament House, in order to save their lives.
