ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri Tuesday said the endless corruption of the incumbent government was making the future of the nation ‘bleak’.
Addressing the participants of the Inqilab March at D-Chowk here, Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Qadri said their ‘revolution’ had now become a movement across the country. He said all corrupt leaders in parliament were united, not to save democracy but their own skin.
“This is not a democratic system; it’s the ‘looting practice’ of our country’s leaders,” he said.He further said the prime minister could not dare meet the flood-affected people during his recent visits because he knew what he had done for the public and who was responsible for the massive losses due to flood.
“In 1990s Nawaz Sharif made around Rs10 billion through corruption,” he alleged. Dr Qadri said all the rulers were doing their business through the capital of the nation and banks and not investing their own money.
“They are making their big empires and pushing the poor below the poverty line,” he said. He asked his supporters to keep chanting ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in response to each anti-people step taken by the government.
