LAHORE: Rejecting the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Model town tragedy, Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said he will not accept any inquiry til the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Speaking through video link, the cleric said:“We reject join investigation team, Nawaz Sharif should have become head of JIT if he had to form such a team, why did you waste five months if you were to form this JIT”.

He said as to who would issue warrants for Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and their ministers as three FIR were also registered against them.

Applauding Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, he said: “We are proud of army chief who is a nice person, we didn’t request army chief to become mediator; rather, it was Nawaz Sharif who asked General Sharif to assume role of mediator”

Qadri said that the FIR into Model Town tragedy was also registered due to army chief.
