PAT electoral politics from Bhakkar by-poll: Qadri

BHAKKAR: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) head Allama Tahir-ul Qadri said that he was launching his political battle from the upcoming by-election in Bhakkar.

Addressing tens of thousands of supporters here on Sunday, Qadri called upon the people of Bhakkar to vote his candidate in the by-election.

“We are launching our revolutionary struggle through electoral politics from Bhakkar. This struggle is a war for the country’s poor,” he said.

He said that the oppressed were now challenging anti-poor and corrupt rulers as PAT’s sit-in had woken up the millions of Pakistanis.

“Our first test is the upcoming by-election of Darya Khan on Nov 29,” he said. The PAT leader said that war has begun between the rich and the poor in Pakistan.

“The sacrifices of the sit-in gave hope to the hopeless, courage to the fearful and awareness to the unconscious."

"I want to serve the poor people of Pakistan and put a smile on their faces," he added

The PAT chief pledged that he would eliminate 'takfiryat' and promote sectarian harmony in the country. Sunnis and Shias will be made one nation," he declared.

"I will change the system if I am given a two-third majority in the next elections." – SAMAA
