Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri Wednesday rejected rumors of a deal with the Pakistan government, media reported.

Qadri was speaking to reporters in Lahore and maintained his unflinching stance of not accepting the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) comprising government representatives to investigate the Model Town tragedy.

At least eleven PAT workers were killed and over 100 people were injured as police clashed with them June 17 this year in Lahore's Model Town locality.

A sessions court in Lahore had ordered police to register murder charges against 21 individuals - including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif - over violence that took place in Model Town.

"My party has supported the idea of a revolution in Pakistan," said Qadri before leaving for the US for treatment of a heart disease, and added that they "would never reach a deal with any brutal force".

"I stand with the poor people of the country and will fight for their rights until my last breath," Qadri said.
