LAHORE - Pakistan Awami Tehreek will hold protest rallies in 60 cities on Sunday against terrorism and to express solidarity with the families of Peshawar school victims.
PAT President Dr Raheeq Abbasi announced this while chairing a meeting at the party head office on Friday. He said 40 committees to oversee the management of the protest rallies had been formed. The meeting was attended by PAT secretary general Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and other leaders.
A statement issued stated that PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri through his message said that terrorists wanted to bring a bad name to Islam and Pakistan and that the PAT would do all efforts to thwart the nefarious designs of anti-Pakistan elements. The PAT chairman said each and every Pakistani stood by the armed forces to eliminate terrorism . Dr Tahirul Qadri instructed the PAT workers to fight against all sorts of extremism and brutality. Dr Raheeq Abbasi gave the schedule of the rallies to be held in 60 cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Larkana, Hyderabad, Multan, Mirpur, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, DI Khan, and Muzaffarabad.
He said that he himself would lead the Lahore rally while Ahmed Nawaz and Hanif Mustafi would lead in Islamabad, Rana Mohammed Idrees Qadri and Basharat Jaspal in Faisalabad, Allama Irshad Hussain Sayeedi, Dr Zubair, Fayyaz Warraich in Multan, Sajid Mehmood Bhatti in Gujranwala, Sardar Umardaraz Khan and Agha Mehmoodul Hussanian in Sargodha, Karachi Qaiser Iqbal, Latafat Mehmood Qadri, DG Khan Qamar Abbas, Bahawalpur Tahir Fareedi, Peshawar Khalid Durrani, DI Khan Bilal Khan, Hyderabad Makhdoom Nadeem Hashmi and Shehzad Qureshi, Mirpur Khas Riaz Naqshbandi, Larkana Saifullah Bhangar, Quetta Dr Ishtiaq and Zafar Iqbal in Mirpur. Rallies will also be organised at district and tehsil levels.
