Condemning the incident of terrorism in Shikarpur in the strongest possible words, PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that it appears that the country has been handed over to terrorists. He warned that if terrorism did not end, then there is no future for the country. He said that a government which cannot get marriage regulations implemented, how come they will implement the National Action Plan against terrorism.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen leader Allama Amin Shaheedi on phone and expressed his heart-felt condolences over the martyrdoms of sixty plus people in a terrorist incident in Shikarpur. He said that the US and European countries went to the extent of suspending fundamental human rights for elimination of terrorism but no Parliament, judiciary, civil society or media threw any hurdle in its way there. He said that all streaks of national opinion forged unity in their ranks to eliminate terrorism once and for all. He asked why the repeat of the same is not possible in Pakistan.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that efforts are being made to thwart the military courts, adding that it appears that the rulers have handed the country over to terrorists who are having free run and targeting innocent people freely. He said that acts of terrorism are being painted in sectarian colours. He said that increasing number of incidents of terrorism and incompetence and insensitivity of rulers has made the nation anxious and woe-stricken. He said that we share the grief and sorrow of the families of martyrs and pray for the early recovery of the injured. He said that how those who have their role in terrorist incident in Model Town can play their role to eliminate terrorism. He said that the nation has been disappointed with the rulers over their failure to fully implement the National Action Plan against terrorism.
