All cases against Dr Qadri, workers politically motivated: PAT

In his reaction to the news of getting Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and his workers declared as proclaimed offenders, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that all cases registered against PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and the party workers are fake and politically motivated and these cases were registered by the police at the behest of rulers of Punjab. He said that the purpose of registering these cases was to stop the workers from attending the Quran Khawani held in connection with Martyrs’ Day on August 10, 2014 and raising a voice for justice. He said that we would not rest till we get justice for the martyrs.

The PAT Secretary General said that the rulers should know that none of their tactics can be successful in scaring the workers from the path of seeking justice. He said that the present government is responsible for killing of 14 PAT workers and their role has been vindicated in the Judicial Commission of Justice Baqr Najfi. He said that the rulers are sitting on the report and exploring innovative ways and means to stop the report from being published. He said that on the one hand, fake cases are being heard hurriedly and on the other, fair investigation into FIR lodged by the martyrs’ families has been initiated as yet, which is another act of terrorism after the Model Town tragedy.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the country is burning in the fire of terrorism whereas the anti-terrorism courts have been entangled in politically motivated cases. He said that it was political use of anti-terrorism courts which necessitated the establishment of military courts. He appealed to the honorable judges of the anti-terrorism not to assign any importance to political cases. He said that the rulers of Punjab are using the floor of the court for negative media propaganda against PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, which we strongly condemn.
