PAT President Punjab Basharat Jaspal has welcomed the Lahore High Court’s decision wherein the honorable court ordered the government to return the secret taxes inherent in electricity bills. He said that the poor people are already burdened with price hike, adding that the government was sucking the blood of the people through imposition of inherent taxes. He said that it is now the government’s responsibility to return the amount of taxes collected over the last three months. He said that it would not be wrong to describe the inherent taxes as theft. He suggested that the rulers should end luxuries of bureaucracy instead of burdening the people with more taxes.
