A delegation of Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) led by Raja Nasir Abbas visited the central secretariat of PAT and held a meeting with PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur. Khawaja Amir Fareed Koreja, Nasir Sherazi, Brig. (r ) Mushtaq, Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich, Noorullah Siddiqui, Raja Zahid, Sajid Bhatti, and Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the media after the meeting, MWM President Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that the Nawaz Government has lost moral right to rule after the Panama leaks. He said that either they should prove their innocent or go home. He said that PAT and MWM have complete consensus on a joint strategy against the government on the Panama scandal. He said that innocent people were killed in Model Town, adding that we would continue to hate the killers in line with moral and religious teachings.
MWM head said that all opposition parties will have to work together against the rulers. He said that instead of taking 20 steps individually, they should take 10 steps together. He said that corrupt and incompetent rulers will have to leave power now. He said that there are clear contradictions in what the rulers say and act. He said that they are more morally qualified to continue to rule Pakistan. He asked as to why the report on the Model Town tragedy complied by Justice Baqar Najfi was not made public. He said that the rulers want to hide all reports in which they are held responsible.
Speaking on the occasion, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that we welcome the MWM delegation on their arrival at the secretariat of the PAT. He said that there is a need of forging unity in the ranks of the opposition against corruption. He said that the government is obfuscating the issue knowingly. He said that the Prime Minister should state his point of view before the Parliament in crystal clear terms. He said that the PM wants to entangle the Chief Justice in the jugglery of TORs of the commission. He said that PAT has a clear stance that the PM should resign from his position and join the investigation. He said that we have established contacts with MWM and other political parties.
