Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri questions PM’s silence over Indian atrocities

Addressing a heavily attended press conference at the central secretariat, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Sharif brothers are a threat to survival of the country. He said that while there is enmity between Pakistan and India, Nawaz Sharif and Modi have friendship with each other. He asked the rulers to tell as to why the police officials are sent to India in the name of treatment. He said that a national consultative meeting has been summoned on July 31 in Lahore in which deliberations will be held to craft a consensus on the Model Town tragedy, Panama leaks and the next joint political course of action. He said that the present rulers will not be able to complete their term. He said that the Prime Minister remained idle in London for 45 days and his heart surgery was conducted in a hair transplant clinic. He said that the show of flexibility on the Model Town tragedy is akin to selling one’s honour and faith.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that our three-member delegation led by PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur will attend the meeting of the joint opposition on July 19. He said that the next meeting of ToRs committee will be held at the central secretariat of PAT on July 31. He said that we have already spoken to Khurshid Shah, Sheikh Rasheed, Siraj-ul-Haq and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, whereas contacts are underway with other politicians. He said that it is a matter of great pleasure that the political parties that supported the rulers during the sit-in in August 2014 are not extending their support to the government anymore. He said that those supporting the rulers will be considered to be equal shareholder in corruption and loot of the government. He said that he dedicates his press conference to renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi. He said that late Edhi was a great asset for Pakistan. He prayed that his mission of service to humanity may go on unhindered till the Day of Judgment.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, GM Malik, Matloob Warraich, Noorullah Siddiqui, Sajid Bhatti, Jawad Hamid and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Dr Qadri said that the government sent the people from Karachi and KP to India in the name of treatment. He said that the police officials are sent to India every year. He asked as to what is the disease which only the police men contract and whose treatment is available only in India. He said that while civilians undergo treatment at the local hospitals, why is medical treatment of the police officials from India is preferred? He said that these facts are present in the supplementary budget of the Punjab government. He said whether it is the firing at the Torkham border or drone attack on Mullah Mansour or arrest of the Indian spy or atrocities on the hapless Kashmiries, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has chosen to stay mum over these incidents. He said that it is for this reason that we state that the rulers are a threat to the integrity of the country.

Throwing detailed light on the agenda of the consultative meeting to be held on July 31, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the whole opposition leadership will assemble in Lahore on that day to be hosted by PAT. He said that thorough deliberations will be held on the next course of political agitation. He said that the earlier the present rulers leave the power, the better it would be for the country. He said that the Panama leaks are merely tip of the iceberg of corruption. He said that we fully support the joint opposition in its demands of fair trail and formulation of ToRs, adding that the result will soon come out of it.

Dr Qadri said that he would be leaving for the UK for three/four days to attend a pre-scheduled programme in Glasgow. He said that after attending the programme, he would come back to the country straightaway from Scotland. He said that he has no plan to visit London and these are only the opponents who are spreading rumours of the London plan. He said that he has long and extended stay in Pakistan.

In reply to a question, the PAT Chairman said that the government appears to be behind the pictorial campaign regarding the Army Chief. He said that the days of the government in power have been numbered.
