PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Kashmiris should get the right to self-determination sanctioned by the international laws and the UN charter. He said that the Kashmir dispute is a burning question for the international conscience. He said that it has been six decades since the people of the Indian occupied Kashmir have peacefully been demanding their right to plebiscite. He said that the Kashmiri struggle for freedom is an internationally accepted legal movement. He said that the millions of people cannot be kept deprived of their right to self-determination. He asked the international human rights organizations to visit the IHK and observe the situation there first-hand.

The PAT Chairman said that he is concerned on the latest wave of atrocities being unleashed on the innocent people by the Indian security forces. He said that violence should not be allowed the block the way of dialogue and peaceful engagement. He asked India to stop the use of brute force against the civilians forthwith. He said that India should talk to Pakistan on all the outstanding issues including Kashmir. He reminded that the longest running wars came to end on table of dialogue.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri strongly criticized the Nawaz Government’s Kashmir Policy. He said that the present government does not have any policy on Kashmir, adding that personal and business relations of the rulers with the Indians have undermined the Kashmir cause. He said that a government, which is mired in corruption, cannot defend its country at the global stage.

According to the PAT media cell, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri reached Scotland from Birmingham on a six-day tour where he would address different conferences.
