PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the transfer of the regulatory bodies under the federal ministries is the first practical step towards establishment of the Sharif kingdom. He said that the ruling family residing in the PM House is using democracy as a shield to protect its ill-gotten wealth. He said whether it is the demand to release the Abbottabad Commission report or the Quetta tragedy report, the whole drama is being enacted to bury the dead body of the Panama leaks and it explains why the rulers come up with new tactics every day. He said that the Sun is about to set on 2016 but the martyrs and the injured of the Model Town tragedy have not been provided justice.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that this while talking to senior leaders of the party on telephone from abroad. He said that had Parliament been effective, the PM would not have decided to place the regulatory bodies under his direct watch with one signature in the darkness of night. He said that the rulers have decided to run the country as they deem fit. He said that the good governance is all about what their pens write. He said whether it is the LNG projects, questionable payments of the circular debt, programmes to sell electricity of sugar mills at higher rates or determination of prices of LPG, CNG and other POL products, the rulers take all decision the drawing rooms of Jati Umra, adding that Parliament is only for chest thumping.

The PAT Chairman said that Pakistan is going down morally, democratically, politically and financially. He said that the people are being looted by churning out the economic success stories. He said that there is a vast disconnect between claims and ground realities. He said that the nation wants to know about the fruits of the operationalization of the Gwadar port and the CPEC. Why is unemployment increasing and investment decreasing in the country? He said that the State Banks says that the current account deficit has gone beyond $2.5 billion in last five months, which represents an increase of 91pc over the last year. He asked the PM either to bring the State Bank under his subordination so that it can put out contrived facts and figures or stop making false claims.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that according to the State Bank of Pakistan, the country’s foreign debt was $65.5 billion by end of 2015, which has now exceeded $74 billion by the end of 2016. He said that in democratic country do the governments use development funds for their party politics, adding that the criterion to judge the performance of a government is its showing on various fronts such as education, health, law and order, foreign policy, diplomacy, tax collection etc. He said that Pakistan is facing decline in these areas. He said that the public sector projects built with the people’s money are touted as the personal achievements. He said that such circumstances are sure to arise when the people are forced to live with injustice, fake democracy, and corruption.
